Since 1985, AIDS Walk Los Angeles has raised $63 million for HIV programs and services in Los Angeles County, and has grown into the largest AIDS fundraising event in California.AIDS Walk Los Angeles is a powerful and inspiring day beginning and ending in West Hollywood Park with a route that traverses the streets of Los Angeles and West Hollywood.On October 17, 2010, we will walk to remember those we have lost, we will walk to help our friends, family and fellow Angelinos who are affected by HIV/AIDS, and we will walk to show our never-ending determination to end AIDS.

Customize your cocktails & create your own flavors infusing alcohol with fruits, vegetables, herbs, & spices. Allow your creative juices to flow as you decide how to express yourself using mixology with your new flavored liquor. Making drinks @ home just went to the next level!

choose your flavor
Wash & slice fruits & veggies finely to increase their surface area and speed up the infusion process, removing any pits, seeds, or stems. Leave berries whole, but bruise them by very gently squeezing them. Crush herbs gently, as it will help to release their flavor. The relative proportions of each ingredient, if you're using more than one, are a matter of personal preference. Use your imagination to create some wonderful combinations using fresh ingredients only! If you want to speed up the flavor infusion process, or deepen the flavor, sprinkle a layer of sugar over the top of fruit. Occasionally stir the mixture to dissolve any settled granules. Try it until you think it tastes best.

choose your alcohol
Vodka is a great liquor to use since neutral spirits allow more of the infusion flavour to come through. The more distillation and filtration, the cleaner and purer it becomes. After you get a handle of infusing vodka, it will then be easier to move on to stronger flavoured liquors.

Put your infusion ingredients in a clean, airtight glass container first, and then fill the jar the rest of the way with vodka & place in your refrigerator, or in a cool, dark place.

•approx. 1 week: wantaloupes, strawberries, peaches, mangoes, pitted cherries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries
